About

A lifelong environmentalist, Charlotte’s interest became a passion in 2015 thanks to a transformative Gardening & Compost Educator Course in San Francisco.

Inspired by this class, Charlotte left her corporate job to pursue roles that inform and inspire appreciation for soil, plants, microbes, and food scraps. As an Integrated Pest Management Advocate with the Our Water Our World program, Charlotte partnered with water agencies, retail stores, and local organizations to teach water pollution prevention through sustainable gardening practices and reducing pesticide use. She also worked as co-coordinator with the California Alliance for Community Composting to support new and developing community compost sites across the state.

After moving back to New England, Charlotte quickly became embedded in the Rhode Island composting community by taking the URI Food Recovery for RI course. From there she has volunteered and worked with organizations focused on waste reduction and diversion and composting in many forms including Harvest Cycle, Epic Renewal, and the Rhode Island School Recycling Project.

Charlotte is an enthusiastic educator who loves to share about the power of compost to fight climate change, regenerate soil, and build community.
